Hi Pachpanites We had Regimental get-together on 28 Oct 06 which was attended by most of the Pachpanites in and around Bathinda. An article recently written By Col SK Nathan VSM is re-produced herein.
THE SPIRIT OF "PACHPAN AJAY" NEVER DIES Col S K Nathan,VSM
For Pachpanites it's Ajay at all costs, Victory against all odds.
That's the spirit that has been imbued by every officer, JCO and jawan who has passed through the portals of 55. It was wonderful to see this spirit soaring over the Regiment during the short, intense interaction at Bathinda in the last days of October 2006, before they moved on for fresh conquests in India's Far East.
We were overwhelmed with the warmth and glow of "Pachpan". The very air of Pachpan motivated us to continue to ensure "Ajay" in our everyday lives. The visit was inspirational. Personally I was spurred at the age of 62, by the very young daughter of Col Dalal to jump onto water-skis and shake out of a slumber to try a life-time-first in the water of the Thermal Power Lake of the Bathinda Sailing Club. It was an adventurous experience I shall cherish forever!
The adventurous spirit and spontaneous magic of "AJAY" did not end there. On our way back, we, Rita & I, halted with Brig Hira Singh at Patiala for a good friendly night-over. The next day after meeting an old friend at Yadvinder Public School we drove to the station to continue our journey home to Roorkee by the Sri Ganganagar Express. It was reported running 30 minutes late. We reached the station well in time, but to our horror, the train gave the last whistle, and the guard waved the green flag even as Brig Hira Singh gesticulated to him to halt, while both of us panted up, strollies trailing behind. Oh! It was of no use and some curses under our breaths! Laloo's dictum of the Indian railways always works-"When passengers are early, you be late; when they are in time, you be early!"
But the spirit of "AJAY" came to the fore. Brig Hira said, "Quick, back to the car, we'll catch them at Rajpura!" Off we were, winding out of the station in the Honda City, onto the highway and zipping away. Brig Hira cursing those who slowed us down, giving a 'shabash' to those who moved aside pronto-"Good Boy, Well Done were his words of encouragement. Twenty seven kilometres to Rajpura in just twenty two minutes only to be told "Hune he lang gayee". Ajay at all costs! Once again, "Pile in, we'll catch the runaway rogue at Ambala Cantt!"
Flying away at 110-120 kmph, sometimes a bit wobbly at 140 kmph, we drove relentlessly through the Punjab countryside and Haryana's unruly traffic, to a screeching halt inside the Ambala Cantt Station. Brig Hira nearly drove onto the platform but for some repair work at the entrance which forced a halt outside!
We triumphed! The train had just chugged in and was silently awaiting our arrival, meekly subdued like a defeated adversary. All three of us said, "Pachpan Ajay" and our goodbyes only to meet again and conquer afresh!

On this 58th Republic Day we wish all Pachpanites a MANY HAPPY RETURNS OF THE DAY The celebrations just got more special this Republic Day when at around 2340 hr my CQAE Resi door bell started ringing with Motor bikes engines roaring at my door. I jumped out of my bed and rushed to the door thinking what could have happened as this type of scene was not expected in CQAE. Of course in the Regt at Bhatinda, we used to keep giving each other such surprises. We can't forget the Diwali night when we all called on to Col Dalals at around 2300 hrs and left his house in the morning at 0515 hrs after dinner, a long TEENPATTI session, coffee and finally not to miss the glass of hot milk which was specially prepared by Mrs Dalal. I reached the door and to my surprise the whole of Pachpan youngster crowd from CME i.e.Maj CP Nagarkoti, Capt Chand, Capt Manish Thapa, Capt Abhimanyu and Capt Danish, were there to greet us the Republic Day. I really felt as if I am back in the Regt and there started the celebrations. Sonia, my wife went in to action in the kitchen as youngsters demanded dinner, Dhruv (my son) got so excited at seeing so many friends at this hour of night that he didnot sleep till morning 0330hrs and kept playing Hide & Seek with Chand,Manish and Danish uncle. Abhimanyu was helping in the kitchen and eating away the hot Parathas straight from the TAVA and Nagarkoti was assisting me in serving drinks and snacks. We sat and celebrated the Republic Day by remembering the days spent at the Regt at Bhatinda, Masimpur and at Jodhpur. This was also the day when Capt Manish had booked his high-end Laptop at a good bargain. So the next party is due on Capt Manish Thapa. Capt Chand made plans to do his marriage shopping tomorrow to gain Republic Day discount offered by various Malls at Pune. It was the wee hours of 26th January 2007 when we broke off. So this was a memorable celebration where we promised to make the Ajay Bond stronger and forever. PACHPAN-AJAY

Hi all Pachpanites its been most interesting reading about so many of the Ajay family.To add to it we--thats Rita and self are in Wellington New Zealand With our son -elder-Yareev and his family.Having a most enjoyable time with our grandson Mir,inspite of the dull and dreary winter weather.Suppose its better than the hot plains of North India.We will be here till end Jul then hop across to Sydney to spend time with our younger son-Anuveer-and his wife Aman. The other day I tried to contact Sanjeev Argal's son Akhil who is in Auckland but the phone said the No is terminated.So if any of you have Argals email id do post it on the Blog and I can get Akhils contact.We plan to visit Auckland in aweek or so. We had Regimental get-together on 28 Oct 06 which was attended by most of the Pachpanites in and around Bathinda. An article recently written By Col SK Nathan VSM is re-produced herein.
THE SPIRIT OF "PACHPAN AJAY" NEVER DIES

For Pachpanites it's Ajay at all costs, Victory against all odds.
That's the spirit that has been imbued by every officer, JCO and jawan who has passed through the portals of 55. It was wonderful to see this spirit soaring over the Regiment during the short, intense interaction at Bathinda in the last days of October 2006, before they moved on for fresh conquests in India's Far East.
We were overwhelmed with the warmth and glow of "Pachpan". The very air of Pachpan motivated us to continue to ensure "Ajay" in our everyday lives. The visit was inspirational. Personally I was spurred at the age of 62, by the very young daughter of Col Dalal to jump onto water-skis and shake out of a slumber to try a life-time-first in the water of the Thermal Power Lake of the Bathinda Sailing Club. It was an adventurous experience I shall cherish forever!
The adventurous spirit and spontaneous magic of "AJAY" did not end there. On our way back, we, Rita & I, halted with Brig Hira Singh at Patiala for a good friendly night-over. The next day after meeting an old friend at Yadvinder Public School we drove to the station to continue our journey home to Roorkee by the Sri Ganganagar Express. It was reported running 30 minutes late. We reached the station well in time, but to our horror, the train gave the last whistle, and the guard waved the green flag even as Brig Hira Singh gesticulated to him to halt, while both of us panted up, strollies trailing behind. Oh! It was of no use and some curses under our breaths! Laloo's dictum of the Indian railways always works-"When passengers are early, you be late; when they are in time, you be early!"
But the spirit of "AJAY" came to the fore. Brig Hira said, "Quick, back to the car, we'll catch them at Rajpura!" Off we were, winding out of the station in the Honda City, onto the highway and zipping away. Brig Hira cursing those who slowed us down, giving a 'shabash' to those who moved aside pronto-"Good Boy, Well Done were his words of encouragement. Twenty seven kilometres to Rajpura in just twenty two minutes only to be told "Hune he lang gayee". Ajay at all costs! Once again, "Pile in, we'll catch the runaway rogue at Ambala Cantt!"
Flying away at 110-120 kmph, sometimes a bit wobbly at 140 kmph, we drove relentlessly through the Punjab countryside and Haryana's unruly traffic, to a screeching halt inside the Ambala Cantt Station. Brig Hira nearly drove onto the platform but for some repair work at the entrance which forced a halt outside!
We triumphed! The train had just chugged in and was silently awaiting our arrival, meekly subdued like a defeated adversary. All three of us said, "Pachpan Ajay" and our goodbyes only to meet again and conquer afresh!

On this 58th Republic Day we wish all Pachpanites a MANY HAPPY RETURNS OF THE DAY
The celebrations just got more special this Republic Day when at around 2340 hr my CQAE Resi door bell started ringing with Motor bikes engines roaring at my door. I jumped out of my bed and rushed to the door thinking what could have happened as this type of scene was not expected in CQAE.
Of course in the Regt at Bhatinda, we used to keep giving each other such surprises. We can't forget the Diwali night when we all called on to Col Dalals at around 2300 hrs and left his house in the morning at 0515 hrs after dinner, a long TEENPATTI session, coffee and finally not to miss the glass of hot milk which was specially prepared by Mrs Dalal.
I reached the door and to my surprise the whole of Pachpan youngster crowd from CME i.e.Maj CP Nagarkoti, Capt Chand, Capt Manish Thapa, Capt Abhimanyu and Capt Danish, were there to greet us the Republic Day. I really felt as if I am back in the Regt and there started the celebrations. Sonia, my wife went in to action in the kitchen as youngsters demanded dinner, Dhruv (my son) got so excited at seeing so many friends at this hour of night that he didnot sleep till morning 0330hrs and kept playing Hide & Seek with Chand,Manish and Danish uncle. Abhimanyu was helping in the kitchen and eating away the hot Parathas straight from the TAVA and Nagarkoti was assisting me in serving drinks and snacks. We sat and celebrated the Republic Day by remembering the days spent at the Regt at Bhatinda, Masimpur and at Jodhpur. This was also the day when Capt Manish had booked his high-end Laptop at a good bargain. So the next party is due on Capt Manish Thapa. Capt Chand made plans to do his marriage shopping tomorrow to gain Republic Day discount offered by various Malls at Pune. It was the wee hours of 26th January 2007 when we broke off.
So this was a memorable celebration where we promised to make the Ajay Bond stronger and forever.

Hi all Pachpanites its been most interesting reading about so many of the Ajay family.To add to it we--thats Rita and self are in Wellington New Zealand With our son -elder-Yareev and his family.Having a most enjoyable time with our grandson Mir,inspite of the dull and dreary winter weather.Suppose its better than the hot plains of North India.We will be here till end Jul then hop across to Sydney to spend time with our younger son-Anuveer-and his wife Aman.
The other day I tried to contact Sanjeev Argal's son Akhil who is in Auckland but the phone said the No is terminated.So if any of you have Argals email id do post it on the Blog and I can get Akhils contact.We plan to visit Auckland in aweek or so.

Capt Manish Thapa hosted a house warming Party after getting marrided and on being allotted a Lt Accn in the CME.
Maj Nijjar has completed EOCEI Course and again detailed for the ECC course commencing soon. He celebrated the 2nd Birthday of His son Jass with an excettent Party at 'Tropicana'CME OI.
Lt Col Gaurav Kaushal also completed his ERC course and left CME.
